Abstract Submission Guidelines

ABSTRACTS ARE INVITED FOR

  • Oral Presentation
  • Dr. M. Vishwanathan Poster Presentation (POSTERS)

Guidelines for Abstract Submission

  • The material in the abstract must be original and not previously published.
  • Abstract must be typed single-space in English using at least 11 point size font and must fit inside the designated space and should not exceed 300 Words.
  • The title should be as brief as possible and written in capital letters.
  • Name of the presenting author should be in bold.
  • Structure your abstract using the following subheadings:

    • Introduction & Objectives: A sentence describing the purpose of the study
    • Materials & Methods: Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects precisely
    • Results: Describe your results in a logical sequence
    • Conclusions: Emphasise new and important aspects of the study and conclusions that are drawn from them
    • Conflict of interest : Declaration of conflict of interest is mandatory
  • Do not include title, names and institutions name in the body of the Abstract.
  • Please proof read the abstract carefully for factual and spelling errors. The spelling of names, the order of authors and institution name will appear in JAPI as submitted.
  • Standard abbreviations are acceptable. Uncommon abbreviations must be put in parenthesis and preceded by the full word the first time it appears in the text.
  • The presenting author must be registered delegate for APICON 2019.Registration can be done through our online Page.
  • A fee of Rs 500 (Rs Five Hundred Only) has to be paid for each abstract submission by Online payment only, No Demand Draft/ Cheque will be accepted.
  • Abstract must be submitted by 30th Nov, 2018 (17:00 IST).
  • No late submissions will be accepted.
  • Scientific Committee reserves the right to categorize the submitted Abstract as Oral or Poster Presentation.

Dr. M. Vishwanathan Poster Presentation (POSTERS)

Recognising and redefining the stature and role of ‘Posters’  as an important mode of professional communication, APICON 2019 presents with a new outlook for posters. 

General Instructions for Dr. M. Vishwanathan Poster

  1. Poster must be submitted by 30th Nov, 2018 (17:00 IST). Please note that after 30th Nov, 2018 you will no longer be able to upload your poster.
  2. Participants will carry Printed Poster (Hard Copy) 4x3 Feet (Length X Width) Portrait Orientation.
  3. No E-Poster will be entertained.
  4. The poster should contain the name of the presentation, name of the presenting author only. No other identity may be revealed in the slide.
  5. Hyperlinks and animated images are not permitted for posters and will be non-functioning.
  6. Structure your abstract using the following subheadings:

  7. Clinical Study


    •  Introduction & Objectives: A sentence describing the purpose of the study.
    •  Materials & Methods: Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects precisely
    •  Results: Describe your results in a logical sequence.
    •  Conclusions: Emphasise new and important aspects of the study and conclusions that are drawn from them.
    •  Conflict of interest : Declaration of conflict of interest is mandatory.

    Case Report


    • Introduction : Should include why this case is being presented, relevance of the case to dermatologic fraternity.
    • Report of the case: Brief account of the salient feature
    • Discussion
    • Conclusion
  8. You may submit the poster through the link given below. Once you submit you will get an acknowledgement through your registered email id and phone number.
  9. After submission, no further modification can be made. Any material that is attached to an email cannot be processed.
  10. Any poster, which does not adhere to the poster guidelines, will be automatically rejected.

 

General Instructions for Oral Presentation

  1. The presentation can be powerpoint (preferably .pptx) using MS Office 2011, Windows 8 or as a Keynote upto version 7.0.5 or powerpoint 2011 version 14.7.1 as wide screen 16:9 aspect ratio.
  2. Each hall is equipped with a laptop and a projector. To assure high quality and near seamless transition between talk and speakers, a network based presentation system will be used.Usage of own laptops or other devices will not be permitted.
  3. All movie files should be brought as mp4/ avi / mov along with the presentation in a single folder.
  4. At the time of loading please verify and ensure that your videos are working.
  5. Free communications should not exceed 7 minutes time. There will be 3 minutes discussion time after each presentation
  6. There should NOT be more than 7-8 lines and each line should not have more than 8-10 words, in each slides of free communication.
  7. Please note maximum number of slides for free communication must be 16 only.
  8. If any special fonts are used please bring the presentation as a pack and go (if created on Windows) or save it as .pptx as the fonts will get embedded and bring your laptop to the preview room.
  9. All presenters should declare their conflicts of interest at the beginning of presentation.
  10. There will be a digital reverse timer at the hall and all participants are requested to stick to the allotted time. It should be noted that the screen will go blank after the stipulated time.
  11. All presenters are requested to load their presentations atlas 3 hours before their presentation time and get a receipt from the stipulated time.
  12. No changes will be allowed to be made to the presentations at the last hour.
  13. Only material submitted at the preview room will be allowed for presentation.
  14. Presentations will be accepted only from pen drive and cannot be connected from mobiles or the internet.
  15. All presenters are expected to in the scheduled hall 30 minutes before presentation. If the presenter is absent at their turn, no further chance will be given.
